Assignment Group is a partnership of four of the most recognised and rewarded advertising practitioners in New Zealand.

Our four principals

The Assignment partners are Peter Cullinane (formerly COO Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide), James Hall (formerly Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi UK), Howard Greive (formerly Head of Television, Saatchi and Saatchi NZ) and Kim Thorp (formerly Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi NZ) and New Zealand’s most awarded Creative Director.

We formed Assignment Group because we wanted to do what we do best- apply creative thinking to clients’ businesses.

As there are only four partners, we have never set out to be the biggest and the best, only the best.

We can only be the best when we can give our best.

So we have to be very choosey about who we work for, whom we work with and what we work on.

Our most important asset is our reputation.

We have strived to achieve a balance between a handful of clients with whom we have an on going relationship and a range of clients with whom we have one or a series of assignments.

Our clients range from New Zealand’s most important advertiser, Tourism New Zealand, to a broad range of companies big and small.

What distinguishes each of them is their desire, from the top down, to break free of a formulaic ‘going through the motions’ approach to one whereby maximum brainpower and commitment are exerted to achieve real advances.

We choose our clients carefully. We only work with those who really want to work with us and who share our vision of what can be achieved when the right people tackle the right issues, together.

Since we began our partnership we have been involved in more than fifty such assignments.

Having built our structure from scratch we’ve developed four platforms, which combine to create a unique offering.

We work with the key decisions makers. We won’t work without them. We realise that their time is at a premium and so too is their intelligence.

We have developed a working method that seeks to maximise the value of the time spent by everyone concerned so that we get to better answers, quicker. Decisions taken are decisions implemented. There is no second-guessing, no gamesmanship.

By working this way, we believe we understand the issues better, develop a closer relationship with you, the client and remain open to finding the most potent solution.
